I have decided to begin producing a draft of my 2 panel album cover. This is just to show mu initial ideas for what my final album cover will look like.
The contents:
This is a fashion illustration/sketch that I created using indian ink and fine liners. Its pretty hard to make out what it is due to me purposely making it slightly abstract. It is a fashion sketch of what is meant to look like me or what i imagine 'Charlie Jayne' to look like (short dark hair). I felt that drawing 'myself' would make the album personal to the artist - as i said i aimed to do. This ink sketch also gives off the idea that Charlie Jayne is an arty person and very expressive in her work.
I have no idea if this is allowed but I have taken this image off Google images (typed in 'splatted ink')
In my own opinion i feel that splatted paint is expressive, it represents freedom and carelessness. I felt that this image would work very well for the back panel as it looks like 'Charlie Jayne' cautiously spilled ink on her album whilst writing up the songs on the back panel.
^ Heres the thing, for my Textiles work I drew this exact same image in the exact same way buy I am not able to get hold of that piece of work due to it being part of my portfolio. So what i did instead was take the photo off google and so will be using the original image in my ancillary products. ^
This is just a random image i took from google, i found it interesting and will only be using this image for development.
^ This is an ink drawing of flowers, i randomly found this in my old sketchbooks and so i scanned it an uploaded it on her :)
I felt that out of all the possible fonts i listed in the other post, this one look the most realistic (to actual handwriting)
Although this font was not listed down on my 'possible fonts blog' i felt that it was necessary to try it out on my draft. It is not handwritten and so reduces the person feel to the album, however the tiny tree motifs added onto each individual letter caught my attention. The branched can also represent ink bleeding through the paper. Making the font relevant to the other contents on my album.
