So after finally completing my digipak and advertisement I have decided to blog about why I chose the colours, images and the design for my digipak. When it came to the planning stage for my digipak and advertisement I always knew that I wanted to keep my digipak and advertisement simple, this was so that it wouldnt become over cluttered.
For the front cover of my digipak I decided to go with a pastel shaded grey as the back ground colour and to have the writing in a pale blue, as I thought the grey and blue would suit. I chose to have a photo of Charlene from mid torso up because I thought it was such a striking image it would make the cd cover really stand out. When it came to editing the photo the only thing I done to change the phiti was add an effect to the image. By adding an effect to the image it made the photo of Charlene become a bit bright and slightly blurred but I think it suited the image really well. I decided to put the artist's name Charlie Janye and the album name Living With Fiction in the centre of Charlene's chest, as I thought it would be easier for potential people who wanted to buy the album as they would be able to see and read the artists name and name of the album.
When it came to deciding how to design the inside panels of my Digi pak, I wanted the inside panels to reflect a mood or emotion that Charlene was portraying in the music video as Charlie Jayne. That is why I went for the image in black and white and changed the petals of the rose to black and white. For my advertisement I wanted to stick with the same colour scheme of a bland simple background colour and then to have the text a pale shade of blue. To make the advertisement more girlie I decided to add a flower pattern to two of the corners of the Digi pak. I decided to use the same image for my advertisement as my Digi pak as I thought it would show the direct link between the two ancillary products.
