Andrew Goodwin Part 2-

As I have explained all about Andrew Goodwin's music video theorys I thought it is only right that I try and find some good examples of his three types of relations between songs.

Illustration- To me finding a video that Illustrated the lyrics of the song was pretty easy. I decided to go with Pixie Lotts new song:- All about Tonight.

I decided to go with Pixie Lotts All About Tonights video as I think this video goes well with the lyrics. I mean the song is called All About Tonight, and at the start of the music video you see an opening shot of the night life in London, which looks amazing by the way. The song is also about going out and having a good time and I think this video really does relate to the lyrics.

Disjuncture- To me finding a video that really suited this type of relation was again really easy for me. Even though I had many examples to relate this type of realtion I decided to go for Devlin's track BrainWashed.

I decided to go with this video because if you really listen to the track you will see that the video doesnt really relate to the song. I mean the song is about being brainwashed into the religion or the mind of Devlin. As he talking about how he going to be come big in ears to come as he say "packing out stadiums," to me this video has no connection to what the song is about and doesnt even connect to the lyrics.

Amplification- To me finding a music video to represent this type of relation was really difficult. I mean even though I had a few ideas of what music videos I could use, after I listened to the song again I realised that it didnt really suit the meaning. In the end I decided to go with Ironik's - Stay with Me.

I decided to give with this music video as I think it really does what the word Amplification means. I mean this video introduces new meaning and adds layers of meaning to this song. I would also say that the lyrics of this song themselves also gives the audience new meaning.
