Production of Music Video: EDITING. DAY ONE. (20th November)

We have started our first day of editing. As nervous as we are, we jumped straight to it, editing started at 12:15 where I (Charlene) met up with Rosie in the media room and started off by choosing our best footage. Having over 100 clips (using up both 16gb memory cards + half of the spare 16gb memory card we were given) it took longer than we expected - picking out the clips we thought stood out most. This took an hour.

Dreading to do it  -we clicked on Final Cut Pro (our worst enemy!)
As I was only assistant editor in AS media, I had no experience in using the programme, although i vaguely remember using the complicated programme before the summer holidays. But to be honest I was new to it. However, surprisingly enough I adapted to it fast and worked the basics within minutes (with the help of Sophie and Rosie every now and then)

We managed to get the intro done for our music video which is the cut away clips and diegetic sounds of the clock ticking and birds singing. We realised that editing takes a lot more time than we expected, also being a perfectionist and all, more time was used when I wanted everything to be PERFECT! I just could not handle moving on with the video if i wasn't 100% happy with the editing. (The group getting slightly annoyed with me!) I'll try my best to lower my OCD levels!
