Copy Right Clearance....
Over the summer I had to write letters to a number of record companies or music artists asking for copy right clearance to use one of their songs. The music artists I decided to write to were Pixie Lott, Ed Sheerhan, Jessie J, The Saturdays and Ellie Goulding. I decided to use these as potential artists as I really enjoy listening to their songs and also because I think the lyrics to their songs are so meaningful and pull at your heart strings when you listen to them.
The reason why we had to write to copy right clearance asking for permission to use their songs is so that we are not liable to be sued. I think this is a really good idea as music artists need to be careful as somethimes people just cover the song without asking for permisson whether they can use the song or not. I must admit that finding the artists record label address were a bt hard as now most of my music artist choices are now signed to an Amercian record company, so I had to find their British record company address. In the end I found the address and have sent off the letters to the record compaines.
